1. Introduction

The Family Intervention and Support Service provide a flexible and responsive service to families in crisis that meet our criteria. This includes working unsociable hours and weekends. 

Our role of providing weekend support should be seen as ‘part’ of a safeguarding strategy aimed at Safeguarding children and supporting families to provide further breakdown. 


2. Weekend Support we will Consider

  1. Current FST cases;
  2. Cases that are likely to be referred to FST and that meets our referral criteria;
  3. To support Duty and Assessment and Care Management Service as a second person on a visit.


3. Weekend Support we will not Consider

  1. Under fives that would not meet our referral criteria;
  2. Children coming out of hospital with no support plan apart from a proposed visit from FST;
  3. Children or Young people being returned home that are not known to FST.


4. Required Documentation

  1. Signed Weekend Support Referral Form;
  2. Up to date Risk Assessment.
